Benefits of Boxing:

Enhanced Cardiovascular Health
The whole point of cardio is to place a moderate amount of stress on your heart and lungs so that they’re challenged enough to make beneficial physiologic adaptations to support the higher level of physical activity. Boxing/kickboxing will help you meet the challenge.

Improved Total-Body Strength
During a boxing workout, you may punch or kick a bag hundreds of tim
es, requiring your upper body, lower body, and core to engage as you make contact with the bag. Plus, we will incorporate other strength training moves into a boxing workout. Like, squats, push ups, planks, and weighted medicine ball exercises.

Better Hand-Eye Coordination
Hand-eye coordination plays an important role in a person’s gross and fine motor skills. Individuals with good hand-eye coordination tend to have faster reflexes and reaction times, and tend to have better physical coordination as a whole. This can help with other sports as well.

Decreased Stress
According to the Mayo Clinic, exercise increases endorphin’s, boosts mood, works as a form of meditation, and improves sleep, all of which help reduce stress.
Improved Body Composition
Boxing is an incredible mechanism for improved body composition because it perfectly combines muscle-building strength training moves and calorie-torching bouts of cardio.

Thank you for considering my boxing/kickboxing fitness class. When I was a youngster I loved watching Cassius Clay now known as Muhammed Ali. He inspired me to train in boxing. I went on to compete at the Felt Forum in NYC. Then I learned of Bruce Lee. I wanted to “Be like water” to so I enrolled in Taekwondo. Here I mastered the art of self defense. In my adult years Judo, Jiu jitsu and Kung fu became popular so I began training in Ninjutsu (who doesn’t want to be a Ninja). I earned a purple belt and even won a tournament with one arm. (I was the victim of a car jacking incident and had a dislocated shoulder). Well the MMA craze hit so at 53 years of age I trained in BJJ, Muay Thai, wrestling & boxing again. I took this knowledge to a local community center where I volunteered as a coach & was certified as an instructor with BCBA a non-profit community outreach program.
