Karen Eli teaches our yoga classes Tuesday & Friday mornings at 10am.

Karen began taking yoga classes in 1998 and began teacher training in 2004 with the Yoga Fit program.  She has since obtained several certificates at multiple levels and has taken specialty classes to teach children, seniors and mood lifting classes.  She also attends several workshops during the year to learn new material.

Kare teaches a flowing Hatha yoga and also includes balance, strength and relaxation.  She emphasizes breathing during the poses to connect the mind, body and breath.  While introducing the poses she explains how the muscles are functioning and shows modifications to allow for various degrees of experience in the class.  Karen adds her own style and the new ideas she learns to keep the classes fresh, although safety and alignment are her biggest concerns.

Karen says, “yoga teaches us to slow down and accept ourselves as we are.  Happiness comes in moments, it’s not a complete state of mind.  My favorite phrase is ‘The past is history - it cannot be changed, the future is a mystery - we have no control over it, so enjoy the present - a gift, a moment to be happy.’”
